Developing
Good Eating Habits
For
the first time in two centuries, the current generation of children in America
may have shorter life expectancies than their parents.
According to a new report on children’s health, which contends the rapid rise in
childhood obesity, if left unchecked, could shorten the life span by as much as
5 years striking down these children with a variety of diseases. Today with
the hectic lifestyle schedules that parents endure, ensuring healthy meals for
their families can be difficult if not impossible.
As a result, The NewEngland
Journal of Medicine found:
“Obesity is (such) a problem that this
generation of children could be the first basically in the history of the United
States to live less healthful and shorter lives than their parents”
Obviously, it is time for parents and children to start marching to a new tune
that can help turn these facts around.
Eating your fruits and
vegetables can be one step in the right direction.
